Review: Jouer Cheek & Lip Tints + Butter London Teddy Girl Lippy

Got my second order from Beautybar.com. They need to seriously get smaller boxes.

The Jouer Cheek & Lip Tints are smaller than I would've thought.

I like how they have their own mirrors and can slide together. It was kind of disappointing that the actual product is maybe 1"x1". $20 for these things is a lot!

On the left- the darker red is Dahlia, on the right-the pink is Petal.

Petal is very light pink. Creamy in consistency

Dahlia sweated, and is more like an oil now. It has a lot of pigment, so just a dab will do.

Butter London's Lippy- Teddy Girl

It is tacky. You can't really rub your lips together or the application becomes uneven. Best to pre-exfoliate. People were complaining that it's not as light as the polish, but if it were really that light, this color would not be wearable. It's ok to me. The most offending part of this product is the smell. It smells like flowers. That is really distracting on your mouth. Why didn't they choose something edible to flavor? The smell doesn't really go away either. I had really wanted Primrose Hill Picnic, but Beautybar.com was just out of that color. I'm not sure if I want to try another Lippy, or try to find a dupe with a different formula. Maybe an actual lipstick?

BTW, my Birchbox still hasn't arrived. At this rate, I don't think it's really shipped yet. Probably just sitting in their warehouse.

Got Some Jouer Samples!

I sent in a request through Jouer's website using the "Ask a Stylist" feature. Nobody replied to me. I'm pretty sure it was at least a month or two. I finally decided to email customer service because I was interested in a few items, but had no idea how compatible they were with my skin. I also mentioned that I had attempted to go through their "Ask a Stylist" form to no avail. The next day, I got a response from the "Ask a Stylist". Hmmm suspicious. No separate answer from customer service btw. Anyhow, the stylist sent me a form of things that they thought I would like. I did mention that I normally wore neutral shades for work, but liked something fun as well.

So she put together a sample pack for me of a few things (less than what some other ppl got, but oh well). It took 3 weeks to arrive -___-. As if that weren't enough, I deleted the pics I had for the lip glosses. Thank goodness for desktop recycling bins.

Jouer Luminizing Moisture Tint

This is actually very similar to a BB cream. It wasn't drying to my skin at all, which I loved. It can be sheer or you can build it up. Unfortunately it doesn't cover the more obvious blemishes, but for evening out skin tone it's great. They sent me Golden, Pearl, and Opal. Opal is supposed to be the lightest color made for "porcelain skin". I don't think I have porcelain skin, it's more like Fair. The opal was still half a shade to a shade too dark. I guess I'm supposed to use this if I want to be more tan. Gives off a "dewy" finish.

Jouer Lip Enhancer Conditioning Lip Treatment

Leaves lips shiny. It's ok. I still prefer Sugar's Fresh Lip Treatment. This one smells chemically.

Jouer Lip Gloss

My apologies, deleted some of the swatches by accident. Wind I guess was for when I said I wear mostly neutral shades daily. It doesn't have much effect on my lips. If it were a bit more opaque I could see it as a nice nude-ish color.
Mimosa is still very sheer, but a bit more interesting looking.
It has a faint chemically smell. My lips are shiny from the above lip treatment.

Jouer Lip and Cheek Tint

These tints can be used for the lips or cheek. I've just modeled the cheek here. They have a kind of mousse texture and glide on smoothly. Love how the color is not too intense and is easy to blend.
Whisper looks to be the color for me. Peony seems to have been added in because I said I wanted something fun. It looks scary at first, but rubbed in is very wearable. If I pair it with a lavender pink lipstick it would work nicely though.

I kind of want to try out a couple more colors before deciding (these aren't cheap!)

Have you tried Jouer? What products do you recommend?

Gmarket Lip Haul Pics/ Review!!!

You'll all be so proud of me, first I found those earrings that I lost. Turns out I just put them in my other organizer case. Those things are so handy. I got one with a handle and many compartments from Michael's for only $6. I have a 50% off coupon so maybe I should drop by and grab another. Second, I finally just up and got the gumption to assemble all the pictures for the lip products I hauled from Gmarket! yayyy!!! Here they are: Lots of chances for you to take items from here that seem interesting to you as well! ENLARGE ALL PICTURES BY CLICKING ON THEM TO GET A BETTER LOOK!

Well before that let me start off with a freebie that I got. This is a yogurt cleansing foam from Etude House. It's supposed to be a peel because of the AHA in it, so I was a bit hesitant to try it in case I ended up in rashes or something. Actually I really like it!! It has a clean fresh scent. Not like lemony or anything, but like when you buy body wash in asia or something, that kind of scent. I don't really see any of the peeling effects. It's a gentle cleanser, and yet it does make my face feel well cleansed after! I might consider buying it, maybe. I have two other shiseido cleansers in use currently and a clean and clear somewhere that needs to be finished off, so maybe after a while. Besides these 1 oz samples are huge and last forever, I really like that. This way you can really test out if you like the product.

Now onto Etude House Lip products~ I apologize in advance for my messy lips >.<

I would say these Sweet Shower Lips lip products have the strongest scent out of the whole Miss Tangerine line (still very faint though). The packaging is sturdy plastic which surprised me, I expected it to be cheaper plastic. These are kind of like lip gloss solidified in a tube ^^. They have microglitter in them too. The sheer color really makes these colors wearable and I highly recommend. My favorite of the two is #1 though. You turn the bottoms and they click while pushing the product upwards. WARNING: do not advance it more than you plan to use because you can't make it go back down. This is a con.

Next in line is the Miss Tangerine LUCIDarling Fantastic Rouge in #12.

If you remember from before, I raved about the formula for this line and how it really is able to cover lip color. You can see that from my swatch below as well. The top swatch is the same color as it is in the tube. The lighter center for the lipstick on the leftmost picture is non existent- due to flash. Very faint tangerine smell that gets a bit stronger as you apply. Still, it's barely noticeable. #12 is the pinker of the two tangerine line shades.

While I still love this line, I find the color a bit too similar to a color I already have. If interested, EMAIL ME: juicedmang0s@gmail.com. $9 shipped- sorry, the USD is depreciating -___-;;

Continuing on with Etude House lipstick theme, I have the VIP Girl Dear Darling Lips lippies.

PK007 is from their main line and OR205 is from the Miss Tangerine line.

I wasn't sure whether or not to get pk006 or pk007 at first, and even all the swatches from blogs couldn't help me. I decided to go with pk007 because it got a rave review and I'd rather be safe than sorry. Turns out it's a nice nude pink shade. I might have regretted the pk006 because I think it would've ended up too light. The disappointing thing is that I love the color, I love how it looks when it's applied, but I'm not liking the overall effect of it on my face. =(. I don't know whether it's because my lips are too thick or something, but it seems like this color is looking a little too light. I look like a clown of sorts. Or perhaps I need something with a more opaque formula, if only they made a similar shade in the LUCIDarling line! Maybe I will take another look in the morning with different lighting. Pk007 has a very very faint scent that I can't put my finger on.

OR205 actually has a bit stronger of a tangerine scent than the other tangerine line products. Perhaps I was wrong about the Sweet Shower Lips having the strongest scent. It's a yummy scent =D. The color is wearable and slightly opaque. A lovely color. The more I stare at it, the more I think I should keep it. But my common sense kicks in and tells me that I wouldn't wear this shade that often. My clothes are all intensely colored so.. I don't know things just seem to not fit well together color scheme wise. I tends more towards the neutral/ cool shades of makeup, so why in the world I picked up so many tangerine things is a mystery to me @.@. Again, OR205 is the pinker of the two released for the Miss Tangerine line. The other is OR207. Make no mistake though, when you put this on, people will know it is orange!

The VIP Girl lipsticks are both medium creamy, as in creamy, but not so creamy that the product is sliding all over the place. I find the it has a good amount of coverage as well. My pigmented lips were concealed. The only thing is you will need to exfoliate before applying or it can look tacky.
Save me from myself and take OR205 and/ or PK007 (I'm still debating whether or not to keep this one, but in the meantime... up for grabs) for $7 shipped by EMAILING ME at juicedmang0s@gmail.com

Rollin' Rollin' on...to the Dear Darling Roll Roll gloss. This one is pretty fun, the tip rolls to help you apply the product. It has multicolored microglitters in it, very cool. I got #4 which I think is supposed to be guava but it smells more like strawberry?? cherry? maybe cherry. (sorry I'm not good at describing these things). I was hoping there'd be more of a color impact but it's a subtle gloss instead. Kind of thick, and slight stickiness.

As you all know I have a buttload of glosses already (see previous gmarket hauls) including the LUCIDarlings and Peach Waters from Etude. So I must ask one of you to step up and be this one's new owner. I haven't even made a dent in those yet. Secondhand gloss is pretty iffy, but I tried to keep things sanitary by washing hands before depositing product on finger--> lips. $6 shipped, EMAIL juicedmang0s@gmail.com if interested.

And another gloss! This one is the Moon Crystal Power gloss with enough glitter to blind someone. The color is actually opaque enough to cover up some of the lip pigment as shown in the non flash picture. Flash just makes the camera see right through the glittery illusion. It's a thicker product, slightly sticky. The color is absolutely gorgeous. The applicator is an actual brush, like with bristles and all. The only slight downside to this product is that it has a faint chemical-ish smell. It fades away after application, but it is something to be noted.

I imagine this as a lipcolor for glitzy night parties. Buttt... as I don't party, it seems like such a shame (Really really really gorgeous). Perhaps someone can do it justice for $7 shipped EMAIL me at juicedmang0s@gmail.com

Again, as I said for the previous gloss, I tried to keep things hygienic.

The last of the Etude Lippies is the Miss Tangerine Follow Me Tint. They have another one for the Peripera line that changes shades from blue to pink. I was scared because people said that one had a bad smell. This one, I'm happy to say, only has the faintest tangerine scent. It doesn't change that much, the color is a very faint pink. After you wipe the color away it's gone. Your lips don't actually get tinted. Again, very pleased with the sturdy plastic packaging, and the barrel is metal. This is SPF 13 product. I wouldn't say it's horribly special, just a product that can give you a pop of color and a little sun protection. This would be good for those who don't want a dramatic effect but want their lips a step up from the bare natural look.

Out with the Etude, in with... Holika Holika?!

This is a very cute concept brand, all the google images you see of their stores makes you really want to visit. The particular product I have here is the Aqua Petit Jelly Tint Bar. It is essentially like a tinted gloss solidified. Kind of like the Follow Me Tint above except without spf and changing colors, but with more color impact. The color is a bit stronger irl than in the photo, and I think you can build it up as well. It's transparent and has a sprinkling of glitter. I got 01 which is cherry scented. I have so many things like this already, including the Follow Me Tint, I also have the Clio lip pencil from last time- they're just all different scents. If you don't have something like this already, I suggest trying it out. This is a great way to spruce up your day with a hint of color on your lips. Take this away from me for a mere $8 shipped by EMAILING juicedmang0s@gmail.com

Last but not least, I have the Tony Moly Tony Tint in 01 Cherry. I've had my eye on this for quite a while now. It's in a cute round bottle and .. so red. I finally got two freebie samples with my (accidental) Tony Moly  order. Each of these sample ones has the diameter of about a quarter (super tiny!), and it's only filled half way. The product applies extremely bloody red. I love it. Applies like water. Once it dries it totally does not smudge off. BUT if you wet it, it comes off right away with little actual lip tinting. (see pictures below of just applied and wiped off with water).
I think you can probably just dab a bit on and move your lips around to get a lighter application as well. I think this was the lip tint used in some drama as well, and her lips were only faintly pink. Con of this product, it has a faintly unpleasant smell. Still bearable though, as it fades after application. The smell is like that of Revlon Just Bitten lip tint- except I don't seem to have any allergic reactions to this product, no itchiness as with the Revlon.

If you want to try this out, I can mail you my extra for $4 shipped if you EMAIL me at juicedmang0s@gmail.com

It's a highly popular product so take advantage!!

The end!

Review: Etude House LUCIDarling Fantastic Rouge Lip Gloss - #3

I had wanted to get this and the lipsticks from the line way back when it had just come out, but I couldn't pull myself together to put that much into a haul. Thus, you've already seen some of this line around on blogs. Still, I don't see many reviews of the gloss, whether it's because people didn't purchase it or because they just didn't see a need to review, I don't know.

This gloss along with the lipsticks from the line are marketed as having the LED technology. Which I'm not too clear on what that means since I can't read the descriptions, but I think it basically means it makes the color of itself more apparent than your lip color or something because of how it reflects.

The gloss is thick, very different from the peach water glosses. It also has a hint of some scent although it's not strong or that noticeable. I like having the thicker gloss because it stays on longer. And I'm used to it from using the L'oreal Juicy Color Gloss for so long.

At first it seems like any normal gloss, but when you wipe it away, POW! you notice that your lips have turned into a disco ball. I suppose this is where the LED thing comes from, many many micro sparkles/ glitters. Even though it's glittery, you don't notice it very much when you apply the gloss. It just looks like a shiny gloss. Maybe the glitter is just very finely milled or something. I think the leftover sparkles are kind of fun because if the gloss should wear away for some reason, your lips still have the fun sparkles to give them a little something something.

The only thing is that if you're a lip licker, I'd advise you not to lick this one because of the glittery things.

I think it's funny how the korean glosses have such scary color pigmentation in the tube, but when you apply them, it's just a hint of color.

Overall I like this gloss. It cost a little less than $7. While that's a surprising price for a gloss, it's a pretty big tube.

Tony Moly Lip Tint: Green Apple and Strawberry

Haha, it's been another while since I've made another post. I think now it's more of, "Is anybody even reading this? Should I bother?" So I've gotten kind of lazy. But I have to keep reminding myself that I'm blogging for me, and only me, haha.

Onwards! Today, I think I'm finishing off the last of the GMarket haul's Lip products. The Tony Moly Lip Tint comes in three flavors, Grape, Green Apple, and Strawberry. I'd always wondered if they give different shades or something, so I wanted to get all 3 just to see. I saw one measly post though that showed that all three produce the same result, so it's really more about what flavor you like best. Most people have the Strawberry one, but I think it might also be because the clearness of the gloss is more appealing.

The gloss is kind of bouncy? It's hard to describe the texture, but it gives resistance when  pushed. It's also a bit sticky but since it's not 100% a true gloss it's fine. It's like half gloss half matte if that makes sense.

I tried all different tests to see what makes it change color. Obviously it's not temperature, or it'd be changing colors all over the place between summer and winter or when in someone's hands. So I also tried acid/ base via baking powder and vinegar...strange none of it worked. So I guess it must be some other component of the skin that makes it change.

The color is a hot pink, but on the lips it's a beautiful cool color.
The color change is instantaneous, but the longer you leave it on, the more the color will stain your lips. I love using this because I don't have to worry about it rubbing off like lipstick does. At first I regretted buying both the Green Apple and the Strawberry because I thought it was too much, but I surprisingly use it a lot.

I like to apply this with a brush since it is a bit sticky so I can get a more precise application, and you know, with the whole tinting color thing.

I think they were around $6 each or something, definitely something I think is worth picking up. I took the pic right after I applied it so it didn't have time to fully change and tint. The left part of the lips is the part that I applied on, can you see how it's pinker a little though?

Castledew Volume Tint Lip Balm: No. 2

A very funny gloss/ balm. When you press down in it it has a moussey texture, and very sticky ish. There are sparkles and glitters included in it. When I first opened it, the surface was so shiny and I ended up touching it in an effort to remove the nonexistant plastic XD. Remember the cherry cough syrup smell I mentioned with the vov showcase gloss? Yeah same stuff, except only a hint, so not as bad. Looks pretty pink in the glass jar, but not so much on the lips.

I guess the volume is from the sparkles? It doesn't have a minty plumping action.

Verdict?: Like, but would rather try something new than buy another when this runs out.

Maybelline Shine Sensational Gloss

You may have seen these new cute little glosses before. Usually I'm not a big fan of maybelline stuffs but these were so cute I just had to take a look. I went to the rite aid near me, but they didn't have it, so I waited until I could get to another one to look for it.

I had my eyes set on guava, but when I smelled it, it had nothing of the yummy guava scent that I've become so familiar with through eating many many packs of yogurt. =/. So one by one I went through all the tubes and smelled them, smelled like cheap gloss.

I then decided on the melon one because it seemed least harmful, but as I was walking I thought to myself, why should I feel forced to buy something that I don't even really like 100% in the first place if I already have so many glosses? So I slowly convinced myself to put it down while looking for heat protectant for my hair. Yay! props to me for not buying the gloss!

Credit to nouveau cheap blog for the pic which I found through google.

VOV Showcase Lipgloss: No.1

HOW CUTE IS THE PACKAGING?!!

And that's totally what snagged me -___-. Despite the horrid reviews, I couldn't resist buying it anyways. It smells EXACTLY like cherry cough medicine. Ew. Gloss itself has a slightly sticky texture. After a little bit you get a bit used to the smell, but still, it's repulsive at first. No taste though. The korean glosses don't seem to have any. Steer way way clear of this one.

It looks like the same as the peach water gloss, but I can assure you it's not, the peach water gloss has an oranger tinge.

Etude House Peach Water Gloss Review: Apricot

Just hearing the name Peach Water Gloss was enough to send me running all over the internet looking for infos. Overall I found really good reviews, so I bought it.

The gloss actually smells like peach Dum Dums if you know what I'm talking about. The familiar candy scent was a pleasant surprise. Texture wise it's not sticky at all, not one bit, and yet the gloss is thick enough to feel like it will last more than 1 hour, but not too thick. Taste? Not really any at all.

The color on the otherhand, is very scary at first glance, a bright orange, but when applied, it turns to a sheer hint of an apricot color.

People call the wand heart shaped, but it's really just advertising to make you think it's cuter. It's really just a plain teardrop shape, nothing special.

Overall, not a bad gloss. Nothing to make me reach for it over and over and over again, but it'll definitely get some usage. Now I just really want to get the Plum water and Peach Milk colors because they look gorgeous. The only question is should i get it from ebay, or gmarket where i'll likely get more freebies? At the same time, I'm hesitant to order from GMarket again just because of the whole fiasco with returned package and having to repay for shipping and a broken blush, but if I don't order again, then all my money will just sit there in the account unused anyways =/...what a dilemma

Without further adieu, the pics. First bare lips, then no flash, and flash. Click to make pics bigger.

Lips Lips Lips

So I decided to do a post on lips since I've gotten my hands on a decent camera finally. Lip products I'm reviewing are B&C Makemani Lip Curving Silicone, Revlon's Absolutely Fabulous Lipstick in #51 Infatuation, and Elizabeth Arden's Starlight.
So like many of you, I was lured in by this absolutely gorgeous ad featuring plump milky lips. I was even convinced enough to shell out $13. I cringe when I read this now.

Swatches of the before and after of the lip gloss. I liked the one in clear. You can see that you do sort of see the same effect after a little while. But I think the texture is what I dislike the most about this gloss. It's really sticky, when I say sticky I mean STICKY. It's also a bit sweet so I start to feel like that instead of having silicone on my lips, I have heavy syrup coating my lips.... is what I thought the first time I wrote this, but I tried it again (after not being able to find my usual of course) and there's no sweetness, so I'm not sure what I was talking about. The gloss also becomes absorbed after about 2 hrs and you get plain sticky lips. Like a child who's just finished a lollipop. I rarely use this (only when I can't find my other glosses). This is another disappointing buy. The one good thing that I will say though is that it's odorless, so that's a plus for some of you.

Elizabeth Arden's Starlight: At least I think that's what this color is. This lipstick is very creamy, it shows up darker in real life, just a little. I use this over a little gloss when I want just a little more color in my lips. I really like this color and have about 1 cm left in the tube.

Last, I've retaken pictures of Revlon's Absolutely Fabulous Lipstick in #51 Infatuation because I didn't like the pics from before. I would say the color is about 2x as intense as these pictures and the shading is more like the second picture's. Again, this isn't very drying, but because of the color I don't think I'll wear it out at all.
